Description
The DataPort HotDock Secure is ideal for users who need a desktop removable drive solution that encrypts their hard drive to protect their data. The HotDock Secure has the following attributes that set it apart from other options:
- Encrypts entire hard disk drive, including boot sector, OS, temp and swap files, which makes it virtually impossible to crack without the proper physical key. The HotDock Secure's high-speed hardware processor encrypts/decrypts at full disk bandwidth operation and is validated to FIPS 140-2 (certification number 1471).
- Physical Security Key (encryption key) can be stored apart from the HotDock Secure enclosure, so data is protected if the enclosure or hard drive carrier is lost or stolen
- Encryption engine performs self-test to check for problems
- LEDs indicate encryption error checking and power/drive activity
- Most units include three identical pre-coded Security Keys; the CRU AES Key Programmer is a convenient, hand-held device used to create additional Security Keys. The AES Key Programmer and additional blank and pre-coded Security Keys are sold separately, as are additional Security Key.
